Alberta Post Secondary Institutions!

As a an Alberta Post Secondary Institute employee, you are eligible to join ARTA and apply for one of ten Benefit Plans available. ARTA offers a variety of coverage levels for extended health care, emergency travel coverage and dental care. With an ARTA membership, you will also be eligible for the ARTA Perks discount program, the ARTA scholarship program, various wellness initiatives and much more. 

Eligibility

  • Contributed to a government-sponsored pension plan for a minimum of five (5) years OR have made matching contributions to their employer-sponsored retirement savings plan for at least fifty (50) months over a consecutive five-year period and are Instructors, Professors, Academic staff, or Support staff.
  • Pension contributions do not need to be consecutive.
  • Members remain eligible even if they have withdrawn their pension, provided they have met the minimum contribution period.

  • Must be a permanent resident of Canada (excluding Quebec) and enrolled in all applicable provincial or territorial health care plans.
  • Surviving spouses may apply for or transfer benefits after the plan member’s death.
